The Black History Showcase is produced by Everett & Associates, Inc. in association with the Proud African American Foundation™, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of African American history. The Black History Showcase made its debut February 2004 in Philadelphia at the Independence Visitor Center, Philadelphia’s premiere site for history making special events. It returned in February 2005 and 2006 and each year established a new record for event attendance at the venue. In 2007, the Black History Showcase moved to the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Everett Staten, CEO, has been the catalyst for numerous successful ventures promoting African American achievement and excellence. He was a co-founder of Emerge magazine, a managing partner of Black Expo USA, and later he founded the National African American Cultural Expo. His passion for honoring African American accomplishments is the impetus for creating The Black History Showcase.
